Vietnamese coffee culture
About our business in Vietnam
Vietnam is known as the second largest coffee producing country in the world and has a unique coffee culture.
Coffee was introduced to Vietnam during the French colonial period in the mid-19th century, and full-scale production began in the central-southern highlands (particularly Da Lat and Buon Ma Thuot) where the climate and soil were suitable.
Influenced by French culture, Vietnam developed a preference for rich, sweet coffee, giving rise to unique styles such as the distinctive "café sua da" (iced coffee with condensed milk) and "café trung" (egg coffee). The slow brewing method using a filter-type brewing device called "phinh" is also unique. Coffee is an essential element of urban café culture and also serves as a platform for social interaction.
In response to the growing global demand for specialty coffee (high-quality coffee), Vietnam has also been focusing on Arabica cultivation and improving roasting and blending techniques in recent years. High-quality Arabica and beans from single farms have attracted attention and are highly acclaimed in both domestic and international markets, and it is expected that an even richer and more diverse coffee culture will develop in the future.

About Arabica Bean

High-quality Arabica coffee grown on the plateau
The area around Dalat in Lam Dong Province is known as an ideal region for producing high-quality Arabica coffee, thanks to a combination of natural conditions and human intervention. The coffee from this region is popular with many people for its high quality and environmentally friendly farming methods, and it plays an important role in Vietnam's specialty coffee market.
Geographical conditions: The cool climate of the Dalat Plateau, located at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, allows the coffee cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in coffee with a rich aroma and a well-balanced acidity.
The nutrient-rich soil deepens the unique flavor of the coffee beans.
Climatic conditions: The average annual temperature is in the ideal range of 15-24°C, with a large difference in temperature between day and night, and high annual rainfall, all of which contribute to the production of beans with a good balance of sweetness and acidity.
Arabica coffee produced in Dalat is characterized by its bright acidity, floral and fruity aromas, and smooth texture. It is particularly known for its honey and citrus flavors. Dalat's favorable geographical and climatic conditions, as well as its careful farming methods, have opened up new doors for Vietnamese coffee.
